Mine Tours
Tour Hibbing Taconite, a working iron ore mine, Thursdays, June 24 through August 19. Bus departs from Minnesota Discovery Center parking area at 1 p.m. Admission is payable in MDC lobby and does not include musuem admission. Crescendo Orchestra Strings Night:
Northland Broadway Youth Theater performs the 30-minute play "Superior Treasure," with score performed by select members of Crescendo Youth Orchestra. Performances by the youth orchestra and a community orchestra will follow. Solo violinist Natalie Christenson, who placed second in the Minnesota Old Time Fiddle event will also perform. The evening is capped by a new quartet featuring violin, cello, piano and flute.

Primitive Encampment Rendezvous: area living history performers share the life and lifestyles of Great Lakes fur trappers from the late 1700s and early 1800s. Re-enactments include hawk throwing, fire starting, birchbark artistry, fishing camp, cooking, blacksmith, furniture making and more.
