TRADITIONS FOLK ARTS PROGRAM
Minnesota Discovery Center's Folk Arts program is offered by dedicated regional residents who share pioneer life skills, stories and much more with our visitors.
Look for our Folk Arts Demonstrators during summer and at special events year-round. They are also available to groups interested in special activities and learning more about what life was like for Iron Range pioneers. Please call 800.372.6437 for information about booking demonstrations for your group.
Meet weaver Barb Lleueling, spinner Marianne Billings, and wood carver Mel Walters. Visit Anna Faye Crockett who demonstrates braided cords, knitting and origami, or Barb Walters who shares candle-making, corn dolls and more. Kathy Culbert can usually be found near our Indian camp, where she makes birch bark baskets, dream-catchers and more. If you are interested in sharing your craft with school groups and/or daily museum visitors, please call 800.372.6437.
