Minnesota Discovery Center Donations Policy

Minnesota Discovery Center actively supports other nonprofit groups through donations of membership certificates* to qualified organizations for fundraising. We do not provide free, individual admission passes at this time. Because of the number of requests for donations, we may not be able to honor every request. While we would like to grant all requests, sales are what support us in our mission and we must limit the number of memberships we donate to two (2) per organization per calendar year.

Please review the guidelines below regarding who is eligible to receive donations, and note the instructions on how to request donations.

We DO donate memberships (family and/or individual) to:

• Church groups
• Schools
• Community Organizations
• Nonprofit Organizations

We are generally UNABLE to donate for:

• For-profit organizations
• Individuals or individual families
• Second-generation requests (for-profit organizations raising money for another group; example: Company X has an auction to raise money for Nonprofit Y)
• Any organization outside northeastern Minnesota, including Duluth

*Membership certificates are issued to sponsoring organizations listed above. The final recipient MUST contact Minnesota Discovery Center to activate their membership before attempting to use it. Membership includes free general admission for one year from the date of activation.

Minnesota Discovery Center Donations Request Procedures

To be considered for a donation, we must receive a letter on the organization’s letterhead or a flyer for the event that includes the name of the organization, their contact, and the date and purpose of the event.

We must receive the request 30 days prior to the date of the event. We will email or mail membership certificate(s) upon approval of the request, or attempt to mail a letter if we are unable to help.
